How to use Argan Oil for body
How to Use Argan Oil for the Body
You can use argan oil alone or in combination with a body lotion. Rub 1-2 drops of argan oil between your palms to warm it up. Gently massage it on damp, still moist skin all over your body immediately after a bath/shower until it gets absorbed. Enjoy soft smooth skin!
How to Use Argan Oil for Dry Skin
Argan oil provides intense hydration while soothing itchy, flaky and red skin. Sebum is the natural oil our skin produces to stay moist and healthy. Over time, argan oil helps balance the under-production of sebum, which is a typical cause of dry skin.
Avoid rubbing your skin hard with your towel after a bath/shower. Just pat it gently until damp and apply argan oil while it is still moist. The oil will seal in the moisture, keeping it hydrated for a long time.
Do not go light on Argan oil. Dry skin requires extra moisture and frequent applications. Dry air is also one of the most common causes of dry skin. Make sure to apply argan oil more than twice a day if you are constantly exposed to air conditioning or dry heat.
Note:
- Avoid harsh soaps to clean your face. Use a fragrance-free gentle cleanser with pure and natural ingredients such as Rhassoul Clay
- Avoid moisturizers that contain perfumes, chemicals, or alcohols
- Avoid long hot showers and baths. They will wash away the natural oils that protect your skin, drying it further. Limit your showers to a few minutes in mild-temperature water
How to Use Argan Oil for Acne-Prone Skin
Acne products tend to dry the skin, causing it to produce more oil, aka sebum, to compensate for its lack of moisture. Excess oil and dead skin cells block the pores, triggering skin inflammation and pimples. Argan oil heals acne completely and significantly reduces blemishes, flakiness and pimples.
It restores the skin’s moisture, reducing its need to produce excess oil. Due to the high concentration of anti-inflammatory components such as anti-oxidants and vitamin E, it soothes inflammation and blemishes naturally. Moisturize your skin thoroughly with argan oil while it is still damp after a bath/shower.
To enjoy the complete benefits of argan oil and achieve the desired results fast, you must prepare your skin first. It is crucial you remove dead skin cells, sebum, and everyday dirt and debris completely and thoroughly to increase the absorption capacity of your skin. This is especially recommended for oily and acneic skin types as they tend to produce excess sebum, which prevents the proper absorption of argan oil.
To achieve the desired results, please follow these steps:
Note:
- Although it is tempting, do not over wash your face. It may irritate your skin and dry it out, causing it to produce more oil
- Exfoliate 3 times a week to get rid of dead skin and excess sebum. Opt for a gentle exfoliator with small granules to avoid irritating inflamed skin further
How to Use Argan Oil for Sensitive Skin
The last thing sensitive skin needs is products loaded with chemicals, fragrances and alcohols. Being 100% natural, argan oil does not contain any harsh chemicals that might irritate sensitive skin. It is proven to be effective in treating a number of skin disorders associated with sensitive skin, including acne, dermatitis eczema, psoriasis, and rosacea.
Argan oil restores moisture, making sensitive skin more resistant to drying and abrasion. The high percentage of anti-inflammatory components such as anti-oxidants and vitamin E soothes redness, flare-ups and hives. Use moisturizers like argan oil that contain generous amounts of linoleic acid (an essential fatty acid and vitamin F). Always apply it on clean damp skin.
To prevent dryness, flakiness, itching, and cracking:
- Avoid perfumed soaps completely
- Opt for soap-free mild cleansers
- Opt for skin care products with only a few ingredients. Argan oil has only one ingredient – argan oil
- Always patch test a new product before using it
How to Use Argan Oil for Oily Skin
People with oily skin tend to moisturize less often because they believe they do not need to. Sebum is the natural oil our skin produces to waterproof, lubricate, and protect itself against environmental factors. In fact, oily skin is a result of the skin’s over-production of sebum to compensate for its lack of moisture. Moisturizing it sufficiently on a regular basis will lessen the production of sebum over time.
Always apply argan oil on clean damp skin. Go very light on it during the day to avoid an undesired shine on your face. Use a generous amount at night to ensure your skin receives extra moisture.
Note: Use a gentle exfoliator 3 times a week to get rid of dead skin cells and excess oils.
How to Use Argan Oil for Stretch Marks and Scars
Stretch marks are formed when the skin is stretched beyond its elastic limits. This often happens often during pregnancy, puberty or weight fluctuations. To prevent the formation of stretch marks, it is important to increase the skin’s elasticity during this period.
Argan oil is rich in tocopherols and fatty acids such as linoleic acid – highly potent components that improve cell regeneration and protect our cells from damage due to free radicals. They increase our skin’s elasticity, making it firm enough to resist excessive stretching. Argan oil also reduces skin discolouration caused by stretch marks.
To prevent stretch marks during puberty, pregnancy or weight loss:
Massage argan oil gently and deeply twice a day into stretch mark prone areas such as the breasts, arms, stomach, waist, hips, thighs and glutes. Continue using it 2-3 months after delivery, weight loss or until your skin has regained its full elasticity
You can also use Argan oil to lighten old stretch marks, acne scars, chicken pox scars and old tissue scars.
